5 out of 5 stars Hairy Bikers Mums Know Best   March 20, 2010
K. J. Mellor
Being the owner of many a cook book I think if you were looking to buy just one book this would have to be the one. The recipes are good wholesome, just like mum used to make, food. Its making my mouth water now just thinking about it. Bye the way the lemon drizzle cake is to die for.

5 out of 5 stars Good everyday recipes   March 20, 2010
Jayne Knight
I love this book, unlike a lot of cook books I have purchased there are a lot of everyday recipes for the whole family to enjoy. It is well written with a touch of humour and great illustrations. I have already tried some of the recipes and can't wait to try some more.

5 out of 5 stars Easy peasy   March 17, 2010

I bought this cook book for myself after watching the T.V series, the recipes are really easy to follow and i have enjoyed cooking lots of meals from this book. Well worth the money.

Nonfiction Monday: Hairy Tarantulas
Dewey: 595.4 Hairy Tarantulas by Kathryn Camisa, Bearport, 2009 I am becoming such a fan of Bearport's nonfiction series books. This volume is part of the No Backbone!: the World of Invertebrates series. The format of the book is very well designed and well laid out for young readers. A nicely sized and very readable typeface is used through out. It has several elements, the table of contents, ind...

Some things shouldn't pop....
As a little kid, I enjoyed popup books. The thrill of turning the page and being surprised by an elephant, a tree, or a flying trapeze was too much for me to resist! There's a wonderful connection that a child makes with something that literally springs off the page. Why, then, did someone think THIS was a good idea??? I have no interest in turning the page and seeing a big hairy spider jumping ou...

One Dog Night
Well, it could've been worse. I was expecting to wake-up to negative twenty or so. While negative five is cold, it's not too awful, especially since there's not much wind. Having said that, I'm taking the day off! I just finished my breakfast, which I ate while perusing a beautiful cookbook (Barefoot Contessa at Home: Everyday Recipes You'll Make Over and Over Again). Exce...
